On behalf of the Craigleith Shores Board of Directors, this spring newsletter keeps owners informed about upcoming activities, project updates, and reminders about community rules.

Board and corporation projects

The Board met regularly through the winter on projects affecting the corporation’s long-term viability. Spring weather and supply delays pushed some work back, but the roof has been repaired, entrances and exits painted, new lighting installed, and a new landing completed. In April the Board walked the property with Shore to Slope and local contractors.

Property management transition

Shore to Slope (STS) assumed management in late 2022. Banking and file transfers took time; owner Gary Kennedy has been on site to meet residents and address challenges. Update STS with your contact information — and your renters’ information if applicable. An accurate record of who lives in the building is essential for emergencies.

Pool, rental unit, and lighting

Pool construction was scheduled to begin May 1 but heavy rain delayed the contractor’s schedule. Work was expected to start soon with a July opening target.
The corporation-owned rental unit was being renovated for a July 1 lease; financing was arranged so reserve funds were not adversely impacted.
New front entrance light posts were installed to improve night-time guidance into the parking lot. A lighting unit for the East Tower was on back order.

Parking, vehicles, and outdoor use

All vehicles must be registered with STS using the form on the resident portal. New signage and parking passes were planned; unregistered vehicles could be tagged and towed at the owner’s expense.
Bikes belong in the bike shed or outdoor racks, labelled with the owner’s unit number by July 1. Boats, kayaks, paddle boards, and surf boards must use outdoor racks — not decks or porches.
Only seasonal items should be stored on porches and decks. Nothing may be screwed into walls or hung over railings. The property manager inspects balconies throughout the summer.
Bird feeders and outdoor food attract rodents — please remove them. Report rodents to STS and the Board promptly.

Landscaping, garbage, and rentals

Trees marked with orange and blue ribbons were scheduled for removal or trimming for safety.
Only household garbage belongs in the dumpster; take other waste to the local landfill. Do not leave recycling on the ground when bins are full.
Owners must communicate rules to renters, share long-term renter contact details with STS and the Board, and ensure renters carry insurance. Minimum rental term is 30 days.
Renovations require the STS renovation form; changes to common elements need written Board approval.

Community events

Trunk sale — Saturday, May 27, 8:00 AM to noon in the visitor parking lot. Register by May 24.
Owner meeting and social — Sunday, June 11, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
